VJ Grant Davis and ArKaos:
"I have been using ArKaos for 3 years now. I was introduced to it by Bob Bralove, former keyboardist for the Grateful Dead. I was intrigued with its ability to trigger video through midi.

I have used Arkaos to create graphics and branding for stadium size shows. The organizers of the events are always impressed with the logo treatment. Many of them assume I spent a week working on the graphic when in reality I created it on the plane headed to the event and rendered it in my hotel room the evening before."

Self-presentation:
I have been apart of the Dimension 7 crew for more than 4 years. For the past 2 years I have been managing the live events side of Dimension 7.

In 2003 I will be organizing an A/V Tour called Lumens. Lumens is dedicated to showcasing new live audiovisual acts and bringing the VJ’s to the forefront of the entertainment. The tour will travel across the United States stopping at 6 major cities. We are seeking major corporate sponsorship. (Up to $450,000.00). We have some of the best visual artist in the country lined up.

As part of Dimension 7 I have been involved with many large and successful shows. I have performed in large convention centers and stadiums. I currently returned from the desert outside of Los Angeles where I mixed video live for a MTV produced video for Paul Oakenfold. Video single (Starry Eyed Surprise debuts July 19th on MTV). I contributed to the Physic Chakra Festival in Sands Colorado June 21st 22nd. Each year Dimension 7 brings massive screens and lasers out to Burning Man (if you have ever seen pictures of lasers and video screens at Burning Man most likely they were ours).

With my partner VideoJon we produced the first stock footage DVD for VJ’s title “levitate”. 7 chapters of fire breathers, fire spinners, break dancers, Mongolian Contortionist, 2D and 3D animation. I have been featured on two episodes of Electronica Optica’s VJTV.

I co-host with my Partner VideoJon “Video Salon” a monthly gathering of San Francisco based visual artist. Each month we open the Dimension 7 studios to artist. Screenings of VJTV start each salon followed by a brief demo of a different VJ application and hardware. Then we open the 3 to 4 video suites to VJ’s to mix on. We provide 3-4 video mixers decks and projectors. Recently, I won a Macintosh G4 Tower at ArKaos' VJ Pro contest.

I am working with different screen configurations and 3 dimensional installations that the audience can control and play with (see pictures on the sites listed on page 2 and eyecandy picture page). My goals are to bring more attention and respect to the VJ/visual artist. My theory is simple. "Provide visuals that inspire, educate, empower and enlighten". Sophisticated visuals for a sophisticated audience. I do this for a living so I can work my schedule accordingly.

In August of 2002, Grant performed at a two-day music festival at the brand new Seattle Seahawk Stadium with P-Diddy, Michelle Branch, The Nitty Gritty Dirty Band and many pop artists.

The concert attendance for each night was over 20,000 + people.
