VJ Highlight : Brian Dressel

Self-presentation:
I have been in the film / video production business since 1990. I started by gripping and gaffing (lighting director) for many commercials and music videos. Then I moved up to become a successful cameraman and motion control programmer / operator for a post-production company where I shot special effects shots for various commercial productions. I shoot 35mm film and HDTV when the budgets allow.

In 2000, I began producing and ended up as the Supervising Producer / Director for a new media company called Signcast. They installed large plasma screens in nightclubs and bars all around the world in many different languages. I produced 95% of all the content and advertising shown on the screens.

I’ve recently sort of burnt out of producing and went back to my first love as a motion graphics designer at a production company called Orchard Productions in Chicago.

Throughout my career, I’ve maintained my company, OVT Visuals with my partners Brien Rullman and Vello Virkhaus. We’ve been together since 1993. It has always been a fun escape from the corporate world.
