Self-presentation:
Background:
Vj-ing is part of Chris's on-going experimentation and research in the areas of media and communication and over the last two years he has been developing and creating audiovisual shows for various events and venues such festivals, clubs, art spaces and underground parties across Europe in the form of live audio, video projections and VJ-ing. Over the past five years he has been working and experimenting in animation and interactive projects.
Currently, Chris is devising and creating a performance that fuses contemporary dance and audiovisual frenetic feedback resonance, developed as a direct reaction to the mass media, confronting the questioning the reality of our mental environment. The project is a collaboration of two engines making love and stuffman. Artists interested in exploring and contributing to this project can contact him at chris@luv2.tv.
Chris is always actively looking for new collaborators who have the vision to create graphics packages and audio visual shows in the arenas of fashion, brand labels, and the music industry.
Cultural Environment and Approach: Increasingly, our 'civilised' environment shifts and alters at a seemingly unstoppable rate, demanding that we adapt to ever-changing and evolving landscapes, technologies, fashions, forms of communication, media, sound bites, beliefs and politics. We live in an information-saturated world and are constantly bombarded with sensory stimuli that can eventually lead to information-overload. Our search for lucidity can prove overwhelming, and we face the danger of becoming arrested and stunted in many areas by confusion and uncertainty.
But out of chaos must come order.
As an innovator, Chris taps into this myriad of information with the purpose of creating symmetry through the development of new and experimental concepts that confront, challenge, and reflect our info-fuelled world.
By combining his wealth of experience in the areas of the media industry and art and design with his comprehensive understanding of new technologies and his a desire to push conventions, Chris is constantly evolving and developing his ability to visualise and create innovative concepts across a variety of mediums. He firmly believes in the strength of creative networking and combining skills and vision, and is just as happy working on non-commercial projects with organisations, clubs and other creative agencies as well as on commercial ventures.
