Since FreeFrame is an open-source project, developers can use its development kit to design their own FreeFrame effects for ArKaos VJ and other applications. Therefore, hundreds of FreeFrame effects are available on the Web from a wide range of developers, we have not tested them all so it may happen that some effects does not behave correctly or does work at all in ArKaos VJ.
ArKaos VJ comes with 42 FreeFrame effects developed by Pete Warden, we have tested these effects with our software and they are stable in any condition, it's the same for the additional Effects Packs that you can purchase from us.
How does it works?
By default, the FreeFrame effects are stored in the sub folder "FreeFrame Plugins” of your ArKaos VJ installation folder, you can create sub folders inside that folder to add any other set of FreeFrame plugins that you want to install.
To add a FreeFrame effect on a key in ArKaos VJ, use ArKaos’ FreeFrame wrapper effect icon located in the Video effects tab of the effects window.
Drag the wrapper effect icon on the keyboard like you would do for a regular effect and double click the effect icon on the key to open the effect setup dialog box.
The dialog will allow you to select a directory to scan for available effects, then select your desired effects and customize its parameters for that particular keyboard key.
Repeat the process to assign another effect to another key; you can use as many FreeFrame wrapper effects as you like and configure a different FreeFrame effect or a different set of options on each key..
For more information about the FreeFrame open-source project and other available FreeFrame effects, have a look at the FreeFrame web site.
The FreeFrame effects are available in both ArKaos VJ MIDI and ArKaos VJ DMX
More information about FreeFrame in ArKaos VJ is available in the Release Notes PDF document that can be found in your software installation folder. You can also download it by clicking the PDF icon on the right. |
