MIDI compatible video mixer software for live performance and show recording
ArKaos VJ MIDI is a video mixer software for montage, composition and live performance. It allows to create and record amazing video shows in matter of seconds: start with a few simple video loops from your hard drive, mix them live on the beat with more than 100 real-time effects or save your performance as a movie clip. It just couldn't be easier!
So easy, yet so advanced
ArKaos VJ can be learned in minutes, with drag & drop and key-punch functionality at all levels. It is equally at home on Macs and PCs and supports full MIDI suites, both on-screen and off, as well as such music authoring applications as Cubase™, E-Magic®, ReWire®. A version compatible with the DMX protocol is also available.
Advanced control on the movie playback is easily accessible through the Visual Info dialog box, enabling you to make a frame accurate selection of the part you want to play inside a video sequence as well as how you want to play it (forward / backward / loop, ...).
HW Mode: Get the best out of your graphic card
Version 3.6 adds support for Shader effects in Hardware Accelerated Mode, it's a set of 43 new fully configurable effects which benefit from the HW video engine and its unprecedented visual smoothness and image quality.
Tons of effects, so many parameters
Each of the effects in ArKaos VJ has changeable parameters, allowing infinite customization of each one. On top its 40+ Hardware Accelerated effects, ArKaos VJ also supports additional FreeFrame effects (an open cross-platform real-time video effects plug in standard) and comes shipped with 42 pre-loaded FreeFrame effects, you can get many more on the web...
The Mac version of ArKaos VJ is Universal Binary, with native Mac Intel support, Mac OSX users have also access to the 73 effects from Apple's Core Image library! (when using the software in HW Mode)
Mixing really means.. mixing
Connect all your favorite video sources (USB / FireWire (web)cams, pre-recorded movie loops, video acquisition boards, ..) and display them live through ArKaos VJ with or without an effect. Use customizable Flash animations with editable text to display on-screen messages in just a few clicks. Combine effects and all these visual sources together with advanced transfer modes such as masks (Luma keying, Chroma keying,..) and copy modes (Addition, Substraction) to produce an infinite number of different display effects.
Now showing: Your best performance
The double monitoring management lets you project your mix full screen for your audience while keeping an eye on the software interface and the preview window.
ArKaos VJ lets you define a custom output resolution that will allow you with most graphic cards and on both Mac and PC to output your visuals on multiple screens (i.e. different visuals on separate screens) or on a wide screen (i.e. a large visual on several screens next to the other) with a Soft-Edge option for seamless blending if you output to projectors.
When you’re done, export your visual remix in 32bit colors high quality to a movie file in resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 px or record your live performance directly to DV through FireWire!
Need some footage?
The software installer that you can download from this web site already comes with some video loops to get you started.. Okay you need high quality? The boxed version comes shipped with an additional DVD-Rom containing 2 GB of high quality video footage ready to be mixed with our software.
ArKaos VJ is multi-lingual
ArKaos VJ is availible in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish versions. At the installation, choose your language for menus and texts.
