The Footy Show Grand Final is a special TV event for Australia's football grand final, it's the pinnacle of the year for this show. Broadcasted live Thursday 27th September 2007 on Channel Nine, it was presented by Paul Vautin, Matty Johns, Paul Harragon and Mark Geyer.
To help lift with the last show, Channel Nine lighting designers Andrew Veitch and Stuart Anderson asked Paul Collison to come along with his ArKaos systems to drive two large LightHouse screens and 80 Chroma Q Color Web Pannels wich were composing a 108 square metres LED surface.
Paul Collison: "I like the Arkaos package as I find it is really easy to use and reliable. The support from Show Technology in Sydney is fantastic. The guys there were really helpful to help solve some hardware issues early on. We used a PC with ArKaos VJ DMX to run some Hi-res Graphic backgrounds during most of the show and to trigger some of the stock media and custom built media for the musical items."
"The second system was an Intel Mac Pro with ArKaos VJ DMX plus the ArKaos LED Mapper extension. This new LED Mapper extension is by far the easiest Pixel Mapper I’ve used. I like how simple it is to map the LEDs in the first instance. Over twelve streams of ArtNet came from the Mac and it didn’t miss a beat."
Both systems were controlled via a grandMA fullsize console.
