Paul Collison (eleven DESIGN)
Paul Collison is a very successful Australian lighting designer with an impressive record of events he worked on around the globe as Lighting designer, director and programmer.
Paul Collison: "I have used ArKaos VJ DMX on various shows and in different ways. I used it on a game show to reveal different graphics on an LED screen. I’ve used the LED Mapper on various concerts and television events.
Of course I also use ArKaos as a normal Media Server software."
"I find it the most effective software of it’s kind on the market. As long as I have my computer with me I can easily implement it at a moments notice."
"What I also like about ArKaos software is that I can scale the hardware to suit the job. If I need a simple Media Server that is only playing back JPegs then I can use a relatively low spec computer. If I need something that can do multiple outputs and layers then I can drag out my Quad Core Mac Pro."

Paul has been a faithful user of ArKaos products for over two years now, we were glad to have him involved in the testing process of MediaMaster, here is his feedback:
Paul Collison: "I love the new MediaMaster software. It has all of the great parts of ArKaos wrapped up in a more professional lighting friendly package. The new interface is much more appropriate for this type of product. I like the simplified views whilst still giving the operator significant information regarding content and effects."
"The best part of MediaMaster is that I can have my entire media library loaded and have access to every clip I own without fuss. This makes life as a designer and operator much easier. Set-up of ArtNet and output resolutions and screens is easier too. Mpeg 2 support is a significant step forward also."
"My other favourite feature is the separate master channels for contrast and brightness. The ability to vary this becomes hugely important in a television environment where contrast and brightness is fundamental to operation. It amazes me that this is not a standard feature on all media servers and players."
"As far as performance goes, MediaMaster is miles ahead of other media players. Switching between clips is noticeably much smoother. This is a hugely important feature. Many media servers and players lose sight of the fundamental need for smooth playback of media. MediaMaster is one of the few that doesn't."
Paul Collison has used ArKaos software on various shows and in different ways, we alerady published a show report in 2007 for the Footy Show Grand Final he designed for Channel Nine in Australia.
He did the Footy Show Grand Final again in 2008, but this time with the MediaMaster software running on a Media Server by Show Technology, ArKaos distributor in Australia. Check out the new report on their web site!
