ArKaos Media Master

Postby PhasedMedia » Sat Sep 06, 2008 2:14 pm

When will Media Master software be available for beta testing or demo?
Is this a overhall of DMX 3.6.1?
Keen to get my hands on a copy, or at least some documentation.
cheers

Yup, although I am sending one of my staff over to LDI in Las Vegas next month- is the arkaos team doing anything for that?

I would still like to see some written material for Media Master- can't seem to find any info except for Plasa promo.

Not to bug everyone, but when will any info on Media Master info be available. I am in the process of making a final decision on media servres and am wondering if I should hold off, but I need a timetable on when literature and/ or demos will be out. And no I won't be at LDI due to show conflicts.

Thanks,

Media Master will be available in january 2008. It is a new software dedicated to light designers working with DMX fixture. It is simplier and more powerful than ArKaos VJ DMX for the fixture mode (thanks to a very optimized video engine taking advantage of multi-core CPUs and internal decoding of many video formats). It contains a library of 255 folders containing up to 255 files that can be edited with from the library management dialog in the software (simple drag&drops).
The engine is very impressive in term of quality and efficiency even with HD content and HD output !
It also comes with audio reactive animations and generators which does visuals from the audio input signal (good for clubs and LED installations), and new and improved flash text animations.
It is still compatible with ArKaos LED Mapper.

Awesome Man... thanks for letting us know when its coming... the next logical question is..... *trumpets sound* How much is it gonna cost? Adn should I wait for the euro to come down a littel versus the US$ heheheh just kidding about that part.

Also, are we going to be abl eto demo the new interface even if we have demoed the old one? Right now, it is a tossup between Arkaos and Coolux for my media server that I am building... It will ultimately come down to interface versus budget.

Is there any chance you could offer some sort of scalable solution? I know other software you can get a 2 video 4 layer version for significantly less than the full versions.

Just curious. I understand if you cannot release details just yet, seeing the couple pics on flickr have my ear perked up.

Yes we can not give more details soon. However, comparing Media Master and Coolux, you'll get interface and budget with Media Master. We keep our "pricing strategy"

Will it be upgradable for existing users or existing users got to buy a new set of software?

I've almost put my $$$ into the existing software until I read about the media master and it's actually what I was looking for.

If it's upgradable for existing user, I can immediately buy the arkaos DMX VJ now and later on upgrade to the media master. Please advice. Thanks.

Swapping your Arkaos vj dmx licence to a mediamaster licence

Postby Manuel » Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:06 pm

Hi There,

is it possible to swap your Arkaos VJ DMX licence to a Mediamaster Licence? I bought Arkaos VJ dmx because of the dmx compatiblity. The only funcions i use are the transfer modes, the changing of color and playback speed/direction and a very limitied set off effects...

Mediamaster sounds perfect!

What is your idea on this...?

Hi,

Got another questions regarding the new software: How is licensing going to work? Similar to now, i.e. your licence is bound to one machine, or are there any plans to create a dongle-based licence, i.e. you can run it at one machine at a time, but you are not stuck to a machine which might not be perfect for the job? (which would make a lot of sense in Theatre and life events, where you're not likely to run the same setup for long).

I don't see what all the secrecy over Media Master is. When I was looking at some pictures online from PLASA, it appears to be the same interface / software that Robe is selling as Media Fusion. Correct me if I am wrong

i just noticed your post.

so i downloaded robe's media fusion. and i am afraid to say it, but you are right, it is exactly the same product.

I can understand why arkaos have gone down this route, as it would open up a whole new market. and give them the money to do some more R&D. and if this gives us a better product i am all for it. but at the same time i think that i would not be so upset, if we had been told about this happening in advance.

You can already download media fusion from robe, so are we as arkaos users are we going to be in second place, when new releases come out?

cheers
