Hello,

You can use
- an ethernet cable and using ArtNet
- a USB DMX box like Enttec or Robe USB DMX.

ArKaos can be configured to respond to ArtNet or DMX messages.

Hi,

I'm not sure you can use ArtNet 'cause probably Hog iPC does not support it. Dmx cable and dmx-usb -adapter with your Arkaos is the easiest way.

best

You need the DMX USB Pro interface from Enttec to receive the DMX

With the 3.x software all hog 3 consoles now support Artnet.

that is interesting, i have a hogpc system with 2 dmx widgets running either hog2 or 3, personaly i have always prefered the hog 2 lib fixture to run arkaos. althow as an LD i run a roar hog on my lighting show. so there is no ethernet ports to run artnet.

i am wondering if i can run artnet from my hogpc???

i will have a look at it over the weekend!

i still would rather run the hog2 arkaos fixture lib!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers

Hey Nick,

I am pretty sure it is just the hog 3 software. Hog 2 would not support Artnet. As far as using the hog 2 profile, I'm not sure if it will transfer into 3. You can try, but I am pretty sure that a Hog 2 show moves into the 3, using the 3 fixture profiles. Also The artnet support is just with the new 3.x software. be warned this is a major rewrite in the hog 3 software and still has a few bugs.

Good luck with your experiment and let me know how it works out for you.

i use sandnet if i want to run artnet with my hog2pc rigg. i also own two enttec usb pro's when run hog3pc and have the option to run anyway i like.

the thing is i have just got hold of a road hog for my LD work and am starting to feel that i should have got a full boar. as the road hog is a four universe hog 3 system but has not ethernet port or midi ports. and i have two Akaos dmx systems. so to run both arkaoses and a full lighting rigg, four universes just isn't enough.i had to get the road hog in a rush this month for some shows i have been LD on.

i supose i am just complaining about the hog3 arkaos fixture lib, and that i rushed and bought a desk that isn't quite powerful enough for my needs.

cheers

not being rude mate, but i beta tested the very first ever hog system back in 1989, i also beta tested the hog3 system, befor release on to the market. and i have grown up in the industry (33years in the business, 22years as LD and technical production manager)

i own a hog2/3pc system, and the production company that i am technical production manager for has a hog3s and a road hogs. so i know about all there is to know about hog systems limitations.

like i have stated on previous post, i quite often run hog2 pc on my hog pc system, as it allows me to use a programme called sandnet, on the same computer. so hog2pc can output artnet to run my arkaos dmx and any artnet kit i like.

cheers
