Mavericks compatibility?

Postby Raygraph » Mon Oct 28, 2013 5:40 pm

Has anybody upgraded to Mavericks yet and extensively tested out Grand VJ 2.0?

If so, any comments?

I did, and my first reaction was
GVJ opend normally, but as soon as I wanted to open an existing patch, it crashed. Couldn't figure out why.

But then, some other day, I had changend the resolution of my retinaMBP, everything suddenly worked fine. :?
So my guess is that depending on your screen resolution, the GUI or something else makes it crash. Sounds irrational to me.

Uninstall - reinstall - no change.

GVJ 2.0 crashes. The furthest I have gotten is to save a new .vj file on my desktop that has 2 videos in 2 cells.

Never got as far as being able to go fullscreen.

This is very very bad.

Arkaos - did you not see Mavericks coming a hundred miles away like everybody else?

JJJ

Thank goodness I still have 1.6.5 running - no problems.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm really glad I didn't switch to Mavericks before my last show!

2.0.1 is out.

More testing.

Here's hoping.

VJKATZA

What kind of computer are you using? - I'm on iMac.

I started a support ticket and got an answer the next morning. They viewed my crash files and couldn't find any reason. They recommended re-install etc but no change.

Perhaps go through support and ask for a comparison with me. SUP #NSA-82218-61. Perhaps we have something in common.

The weird thing is that I had a friend install the software on an identical machine with no sweat. I also installed on my ancient MacBook Pro and no issues.

Good luck.

If anybody is having trouble with GVJ 2.0.1 crashing on start up - do this.

Open Finder.
Command Shift G
Type: ~/Library/Preferences/
Delete: GV2 folder
Delete: com.ArKaos.GrandVJ.plist if you see it

Restart App.
Should return to defaults.

Can someone on here comment if you just have to delete the .plist file?
