Should you get, when opening a (usually carefully self-constructed) .vj file: "the file could not be loaded", the following might help:
open the problematic .vj file in a Text editor.
Execute a search for the following:
(double spaces before the slash / and include the double quote " in the search)
This should yield at least 1 result.
For all results:
the result will be in a line that states:
<VISUAL ID="............." />
delete that entire line (multiple results: multiple entire lines to be deleted)
surrounding the line(s) should be left in the file (NOT be deleted).
Secondly, execute a search for:
(again: double spaces before the slash /)
This should yield as many results as the earlier search.
Delete the line
every time it occurs.
Save the .vj file (as a 'plain' text file)
Startup GrandVJ and open the (fixed?!) file.
PS the folks at Arkaos could not tell me, what causes this.
I have had it happen on GrandVJ Mac OS X 10.7.x with GVJ versions 1.6.5 and earlier.
