Touchscreen/Multitouch Display Computers

Postby konst » Mon Jan 18, 2010 3:43 pm

Hi Forum,
Windows 7 seems to support Multitouch Displays, and there are rumors that Apple will offer not only a multitouch tablet, but also multitouch i-Macs soon.
This technology woud make sense as a user interface for Grand VJ and other VJ-Systems, would'nt it?
I've been thinking of buying some nice controller interface for my Grand VJ. But a multitouch Mac would make this largely obsolete, I think.
Does multitouch alreday work with Grand VJ/Windows?
What do you think of it? Is Arkaos prepared for this technology, when it becomes available from Apple?

Greetings from Munich

The term 'multi-touch' is is a bit confusing, they only support gestures and are not able to track two points independantly.
...So you can't drag two sliders at once. :(
GrandVJ works very well with touchscreens, although there is still some issues wth clip info pop up on matrix window obscuring other clips.
I recommend getting a controller as well as a touchscreen.
