I’ve been using this version for 9 hours long with everything I could (generators, movies, flash & one camera), using the new per cell layer target feature and it was perfect !
As I was afraid my MB Pro would get hot and slow I haven’t used frame blending but I should have done so cause playing movies slowly is often interresting in parties and my MB Pro kept perfectly fast with generally 4 layers running.
Good work !

Hi,
I was expecting these new features but I can’t use some of them. For exemple, when I browse Qartz Compositions folders, the interface doesn’t show me the files (and I’m sure they are). I have Quartz installed. It seems the interface is slower to build on startup. I can’t say about performances. Finaly, my BCF2K doesn’t feedback. Is there something to do specialy ?
You do a great job so I think there will be solutions to what I experienced.
Thanks,
VJ Stello

This is great news about Quartz Composer support. I write custom QC plugins and effects, and would love to test compatibility. When you say Quartz Composer player, does this mean Quartz Composer compostions as sources only, or also as intermediate effects as well?
Thanks. Ill check out the download and see whats what.

Great, thanks for adding this! It was really easy to get this working with our controllers, I made a quick video demo of it lighting up the LED’s on our block controller http://vimeo.com/7170701

If it of any interest to you I have tested out GrandVJ for the first time and written an article about it. Keep in mind this is from the perspective of a Modul8 user, but let me know your comments anyway.

The Performance is good, the graphic of the interface is sometimes vewry idle.
But the new feature is a real step foreward.
The Stability of the application is excellent, no crashes at all.

Hi Maria, it should play sound from .mov files. However that’s not a feature we support or develop, GrandVJ is not meant to play sound from your clips it’s meant to mix video, effects and generators reacting on an external sound source.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I can´t get any sound out of .mov files in this beta verson. It work perfectly in grandVJ 1.1 but not in 1.2 beta.

We know about this issue, it should be fixed in GrandVJ 1.2 final release

Having a great time using GrandVJ – two problems though during my last two live club performances.
Friday – layer 2 was dead. Couldn’t get anything dropped into it to play. Saturday, same thing happened but with layer 3. Checked to ensure I hadn’t locked anything and couldn’t figure out the source of the problem.
Other issue – couldn’t get the preview window to switch between those assigned to A or B. It would only show A. Been happening for a while, which I find a bit wierd. Anyone else having these problems?
I just installed the latest update, and I’m hoping in 1.2b whatever is causing those will have been fixed.
Otherwise, great program – really enjoying using it!

Hi Moe,
We saw this issue when people had R,G,B of the layer set to zero. Can you see if this is your case ?
Btw, this is the worse place to report anything as we, developer don’t monitor it. Could you follow this either on the forum or through our support portal ?

Marc
